About Jess
I am a graphic designer who is lucky to live and work in the lovely little town of Lyons, Colorado. Nestled at the feet of the Rocky Mountains, Lyons is brimming with artistic energy of all kinds and everything around me inspires me to create every day.
I began my career in graphic design doing small client projects at a public relations agency in downtown Denver and later on the production team in an offset print shop, where I learned how to properly create files for print. Soon after, I began taking small client projects as an independent contractor. Twenty years later, I have been a Creative Director for multiple magazines and travel guides, developed corporate identities and brands, designed merchandise and marketing materials, advertising and websites for clients ranging from a renewable energy company, to restaurants, craft distilleries, real estate developers and public transportation providers. I have a passion for beautiful typography and layout. I have an elastic and eclectic style that is all my own and I love nothing more than collaborating with my clients to find the perfect solution to each unique design project.
Book and magazine design are my passion. After working with Colorado book printer, Steuben Press, I have shifted the focus of my design business to book design. I am well-versed in industry standards for all varieties of books, including memoirs, coffee table books, short and long fiction, children’s literature, and self-help books. I have an eye for detail and can assist with all parts of the self-publishing journey.
